#webtube : Released in 1995 on the album *Anamorphosée*, the track « California » by Mylène Farmer marked an artistic turning point, embracing rock and urban sounds inspired by her time spent in America. This hypnotic song—blending distorted guitars with a trip-hop rhythm—is inseparable from its provocative music video, directed by Abel Ferrara, in which the singer takes on a striking dual role. Having become a staple of 1990s French pop, it remains a highlight of her live performances.
